TTCL Corporation (NICTBB) and ICTA - Kenya
In an effort to strengthen collaboration in digital development within the East African Community (EAC), the ICT Authority of Kenya (ICTA–Kenya) made an official visit to the Tanzania Telecommunications Corporation (TTCL).
The engagement focused on enhancing regional cooperation and identifying opportunities to improve digital connectivity and infrastructure across borders.
During the visit, the ICTA–Kenya delegation toured the National Internet Data Centre (NIDC) and the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB), where they gained firsthand insights into how TTCL manages, secures, and maintains Tanzania’s critical communication infrastructure.
This partnership represents a significant milestone toward regional digital integration, aiming to improve service delivery, enhance connectivity, and strengthen information security across the East African region.
Recently, TTCL launched a new NICTBB link to the international submarine cable landing stations along Mombasa — a strategic initiative designed to ensure reliable and resilient communication within the EAC. This further reinforces TTCL’s commitment to driving digital transformation and regional interconnectivity.
Together, TTCL Corporation and ICTA–Kenya are building the digital backbone that will empower East Africa’s growth and innovation.
